Research Like an Academic

MONTH-LONG COURSE :: July 2024

Historical fiction, history-inspired fantasy, steampunk, science fiction with a certain era-appropriate flavor—it all requires research into the past. Whether you’re writing in 800 BCE, the 1800s, or the 1980s, it’s going to require a little research.

But it can be tough to know where to start. Wikipedia’s a great source—but Google doesn’t even put Wikipedia on the first page lately, and it can be difficult in this day and age to know what sources to trust.

This course is here to help. In four short sessions, Alex will cover their own areas of historical interest (Everyday Lives, Alternate Timelines) and practical advice (How to Research, Rebuild from Fragments).

Interested? Sign up here. You’ll be able to choose your courses (or sign up for all four) in just a few months.
